In the heart of the Telemark Canal, we invite you to experience the tranquility that only an ancient forest and a historic cultural landscape can offer. Here, between Lunde and Ulefoss, we are creating a unique getaway with 10 year-round forest rooms designed by Furore Arkitektur/Oslo Works, a floating sauna and pier, local food & drink experiences and unforgettable experiences inspired by the forest.

Our floating sauna is now open and available for booking!
The first forest suites are being planned due to open in 2026.

Vi er i gang med første byggetrinn: flytende badstu

Vi er godt i gang med å utvikle et unikt og bærekraftig hytteprosjekt i hjertet av Telemarks vakre natur. Snart vil ti eksklusive hytter stå klare, hver med sin egen sjarm og historie, designet for å gi en uforglemmelig naturopplevelse.

Hyttene har kapasitet til å huse totalt 25 gjester, og i tillegg bygger vi et felles bygg med bespisning, en koselig lounge, resepsjon, og en flytende badstue for maksimal avslapning.

About the forest suites

We have received approval to build a total of 10 forest suites, along with a building for dining and other experiences. The first 2-4 cabins are currently in the planning stage, with a goal of opening in 2026.

Where will you find the forest hideaway?

Our forest suites can eventually be found in an old forest belonging to the family farm Øvre Tveitan. The forest is located in Lunde in Telemark, in a beautiful cultural landscape and with access to the historic Telemark Canal.
Telemark is known for its beautiful forests, rich cultural heritage, and rolling landscapes that change character with the seasons.
Skogens Rom is located just 5 km from the center of Lunde.

What to expect in the future:

When the forest hideaway is completed, you will find everything you need for an unforgettable experience in nature. Here’s a glimpse of what you can look forward to when everything is complete:

10 forest suites - Experience the tranquility of the forest in one of our suites, close to nature but with maximum comfort.
Sleeps 25 people - Each suite accommodates 2 people, with the option for an extra bed in most of them.
Local food & drinks – We will be there for our guests, creating a social atmosphere and offering a taste of the forest and local community.

The story of Skogens Rom

Skogens Rom began with a shared love for the nature around us, a desire to create something special in the place we call home, and, most importantly, a wish to create magical moments for both our guests and ourselves. Our journey started several years ago, and we’re only at the beginning.

2020

Workation Træna

Our journey was first inspired by a week-long workation in Træna in Northern Norway, where we explored ideas and dreams of creating a unique accommodation experience in the heart of Norwegian nature. We returned home full of excitement, but just two days later, Norway went into lockdown due to COVID-19. However, the slower pace and increased time spent outdoors only strengthened our conviction that this was the right path for us.

2021-2022

Feasibility study completed

Between 2021 and 2022, we conducted a thorough feasibility study with support from Innovation Norway and the municipal business development fund. We analyzed the area, explored different concepts, and ensured that the project was both viable and sustainable.

Concept development and architectural design

With a solid foundation from the feasibility study, we began refining our concept. In collaboration with Furore Arkitektur/Oslo Works and experience developer Pål Knutsson Medhus, we shaped the vision for Skogens Rom—built with a deep respect for the forest, our guests, and the local community of Lunde.

2023

Public regulations approved

After extensive paperwork, the zoning plan was finally approved in September 2023. It was a valuable learning process with many stakeholders involved, but, most importantly, it gave us the green light to move forward with the detailed planning of the forest suites.

Development of visual identity and website

We have to admit—we love it when things look great! It has been a pleasure collaborating with designer Hege from Toogtyve to develop our visual identity, and with GetOnNet to bring this vision to life on this website.

Åpning flytende badstue

4. mars 2025 åpnet vi ENDELIG vårt første trinn for gjester; Skogens rom Sauna. En flytende, arkitekttegnet badstue med plass til 10 personer.

Kåret til "Årets nykommer 2026"

I februar ble badstua vår kåret til "Årets nykommer 2026" av selveste Norges Badstulaug! Snakk om stas!

Vi jobber på...

Det jobbes fremdeles med planene om etablering av overnatting, og vi håper at vi kan komme igang med gravearbeider i løpet av året. Vi får se.
