Olav was born and raised on the family farm, Øvre Tveitan, here in Tveitankroken, Lunde. Bodil, originally from Sunnmøre on the west coast of Norway, fell in love with both the man and the place! Since 2008, we’ve lived at Nedre Tveitan with our children—who are now teenagers—while Olav’s parents, Ingerid and Per, still reside at Øvre Tveitan.
Meet Bodil
Bodil has spent nearly 25 years working in tourism, mainly in communication, marketing, event planning, business development, and skills training. Her career has taken her across both Norway and abroad, but her roots are now firmly planted in Telemark. She speaks Norwegian and English fluently and dabbles in French, German, and Spanish. Since fall 2021, Bodil has been a devoted winter bather and sauna enthusiast. She has a deep love for music and enjoys creative projects - at any hour of the day (or night!).
Meet Olav
Olav is deeply rooted in culture. Since 2009, he has worked with The Cultural School Bag (Den kulturelle skolesekken) at Telemark County Council, ensuring that children and young people get enriching cultural experiences during the school year. In his free time, he plays saxophone in several bands and musical groups - where ’70s funk holds a special place in his heart. If you see a guy driving a tractor in a long-collared shirt, it’s probably Olav! He’s also a passionate homebrewer and a member of Tveitankroken Ølbryggarlaug.
Why build a forest hideaway in Telemark?
Keeping the village, farm, nature & culture alive
Our hearts belong to Lunde, and we want to help keep our village a wonderful place to live, work, and visit. For a long time, we were unsure whether to take over the family farm - its roots stretch back to Viking times, but neither of us felt like farmers. Then we realized we could use the farm in our own way - and suddenly, we saw it with new eyes. We hope to combine our knowledge and experience with everything the farm has been (and still is) to create something new. If our crazy idea can inspire others to take a leap, encourage more people to move here, or help other local businesses grow, that would be amazing. Long live rural Norway!
The drive to create
What could be better than using creativity, passion, knowledge and networks to create our own jobs? Creating memorable and magical experiences - for you, for us and for those around us. Yes, it takes a bit of madness. But if everyone played it safe, the world wouldn’t move forward.
Feeling the rush of life
Unforgettable moments. Connections with people. Magical experiences in nature.
We need to feel that rush of excitement. To know that what we do matters. To feel truly alive.
After years of working behind computer screens, we long to look people in the eye, breathe in fresh air and move our bodies. We’ve only just begun to explore our forests, and we learn more every day.
With Skogens Rom we want to work with love for the forest, Lunde, our guests and the people around us.
Welcome!
