Welcome to warm and wonderful experiences in beautiful surroundings, for both locals and visitors to Lunde!
Location
Our architect-designed sauna was built in Lunde during the winter of 2024/2025, and in June it finally opened in its permanent location; Tveitanevja and Tveitankroken, between Lunde and the Vrangfoss lock.
Address: Vrangfossvegen 534, 3825 Lunde (free parking)
Set in a stunning cultural landscape, it’s the perfect place to slow down and find some peace.
National Cycle Route No. 2 runs along Vrangfossvegen, so why not combine your ride with a sauna session? Or arrive by water - by canoe or kayak!
Private sessions, drop-in or events
Sauna bathing has long traditions both in Norway and many other countries. After a brief detour in the 1980s, when “everyone” in Norway sat alone in their private home saunas, we’re fortunately back on a much better track - with public and commercial shared saunas more popular than ever!
There’s something very timely about leaving the outside world behind and stepping into the warmth of a shared space - whether you join new faces, good friends, or family. Perhaps the sauna is the perfect place to meet new people? Or maybe you simply want a calm and comfortable session with those closest to you. Our sauna is designed to welcome both.
Once a month, we also host "aufguss" sessions. Aufguss is a German word meaning “to pour over,” and is a sauna ritual where water, ice, and essential oils are poured onto hot stones to create steam and pleasant aromas, which are then circulated throughout the sauna with a towel or fan by a sauna master. The experience lasts about 1.5 hours in total, divided into several sessions with good breaks in between. Check our booking calendar for upcoming and available sessions..
With a passion for good design and quality
The sauna was designed by architect Tone Sandøy from Furore Arkitektur / Oslo Works and is the result of extensive nerding about saunas and ice bathing, with valuable input from experienced sauna enthusiasts. Telemark ByggEntreprenør from Gvarv has transformed the drawings into a real building.
